Arpocore™ For Rubber Compound applications

For the rubber compounding industry, Arpocore™ is applied to improve the integral properties of the end product mostly through increasing product wear resistance, control the friction coefficient and improve heat resistance and fire retardance of the rubber compounds. 

One of the current challenges in the rubber industry, is that after a certain period of time, the products start showing signs of wear, causing inconvenient maintenance and down-time. Products such as timing belts and conveyor belts are good examples of products that are subject to wear over time.

With Arpocore™ as an additive for rubber compounds, the wear resistance will improve immediately whilst causing no abrasiveness, whereas with other additives only one of these aspects can be improved while simultaneously affecting the other.

All applications show that Arpocore™ attaches itself to the counter material, which makes it very hard for the rubber compound to wear out, resulting in an extension of the lifetime of the rubber compound; increasing end product quality and sustainability.

Frequently asked questions about Arpocore™

Arpocore™ as an additive for rubber compounds can be processed in factory.

Arpocore™ is compatible with color/pigments and resins. The product “adopts” the color that is used in the final product. This means that Arpocore™ is not visible in the final product.

Only a relatively small weight/amount of powder is required to cause a significant friction increase. Most of the time, quantities of 10-30 PHR are used.

The most additives make rubber compounds more abrasive, eroding the materials with which they come into contact. With Arpocore™, it is possible to influence the friction positively whilst simultaneously increasing the wear resistance. With Arpocore™, it is possible to influence the friction positively whilst simultaneously increasing the wear resistance. This way, the lifetime of the products will be extended and less repeating of production is necessary. This makes Arpocore™ a sustainable solution.

Arpocore™ is able to adhere itself to the counter material and besides that, Arpocore™ itself doesn’t wear out. This means, when being integrated in a product, Arpocore™ will increase the wear resistance and extend the lifetime of the product.
